The Blood Of Heroes

Miehellä on Ad Noiseam levymerkille julkaistan soolo-albumin sekä sitä edeltävän EP:n lisäksi tulollaan pari muuta mielenkiintoista projektia. Toukokuussa Hymen Records julkaisee I Am The Sun sivuprojektin jossa ainakin vierailijalista on mielenkiintoista luettavaa - mainitaan ainakin ne kaksi itselleni tuttua nimeä eli breakcore jumala Venetian Snares ja godfather jap noise, Merzbow. Toistaiseksi tuosta projektista ei ole muuta ulkona kuin yksi toiselle artistille tehty remix. Odotellaan.

Jo viime vuodesta lähtien vastaanottavassa tilassa odoteltu ja omaa nimeä kantava The Blood Of Heroesin albumi sen sijaan vakuuttaa jo pelkästään projektin takaa löytyvien nimien ja nyt myös mp3 klippien perusteella. Itse musiikki on jotain next level tavaraa - drum and bassia, post-rockia, dubia eli asettuu ehdottomasti tuonne positiivisesti koettuun 'mitä helvettiä minä juuri äsken kuuntelin' kategoriaan. Ulkona kuudes huhtikuuta.

Ohm Resistancen hype lupailee seuraavaa:
A year long recording process involving Guitar genius Justin Broadrick, bass superpower Bill Laswell, electronic artists Submerged and End.user, vocalist Dr. Israel, and others gives birth to the self titled debut of The Blood of Heroes. Taking its name from the Rutger Hauer film that came after Bladerunner, the group delivers on all ends from rock to dub to drum n bass to spacious sounds and fills in all corners inbetween. Industrial Dancehall, Metal Dubstep, Ambient Beats, the album is the crossover of crossovers – musicians creating where their heart takes them without regard for limitations. Broadrick summons some of the absolute direst guitar dirges alongside the beauty that he now explores with his group Jesu. End.user's glitch programming strides in territories previously undiscovered, and Submerged's blocky beat sound adds girth to the post-apocalyptic nightmare of The Blood of Heroes.

Moldoverin kansitaide

Whoah. Tässä on selkeästi yksi originaaleimmista ideoista kansitaiteen suhteen johon myöskin nähty kunnolla vaivaa. Moldover on nimittäin rakentunut CD:n ympärille koostetun astian - musiikki-instrumenttina toimivan piirilevyn eli tässä tapauksessa yksinkertainen theremin-soitin jota voi soittaa albumin yhteydessä.

  • Vuonna 1996 FSOL toi uuden levynsä, Dead Cities, levy-yhtiön johtoportaalle. Tietenkin omalla tyylillään. Epic. (30/07/09 - 0  # )
